The Mercury is Rega's flagship pre-amplifier — the largest by component count and most complex electronic product Rega has ever created — representing nearly four decades of solid-state amplifier engineering expertise. With an ultra-low noise floor that reveals exceptional dynamic range and preserves the most subtle performance details, the Mercury sets a new benchmark for what a reference pre-amplifier can achieve.

Fully Discrete Symmetrical Circuitry

The Mercury's core signal path uses fully discrete, symmetrical circuitry — the same design philosophy that has driven Rega's amplifier range for decades, taken to its ultimate conclusion. Every component has been individually selected to achieve the lowest possible noise and distortion, resulting in a pre-amplifier that gets out of the way of the music.

High-Performance DAC with Multiple Digital Inputs

The Mercury features a high-specification DAC with both S/PDIF (coaxial and optical) and galvanically isolated asynchronous USB inputs, supporting up to 32-bit/192kHz PCM and DSD64 via DoP. This makes the Mercury a genuine one-box solution for both analogue and digital sources.

Discrete Headphone Amplifier

A fully discrete headphone amplifier is built into the Mercury, capable of delivering up to 9V / 2.5W into 33Ω — enough power to drive even the most demanding headphones with authority and control.

Precision Engineering

Hand-crafted in the UK, the Mercury features a CNC machined aluminium case and an Alps Blue Velvet RK27 volume control in a symmetrical configuration. DC-coupled main outputs with comprehensive protection circuitry monitor both the main and headphone outputs at all times. A full-colour IPS display and custom backlit Orbit remote control complete the package.

The Perfect Partner

The Mercury is designed to work in perfect synergy with the Rega Solis Reference Power Amplifier (168W per channel @ 8Ω), forming the heart of a reference-level system. It also pairs beautifully with other Rega Reference components including the Aura MC phono stage and Isis CD player.
